Past Projects

Activities From The Past

(MHF’s services and activities in the past were conducted from 1996 – 2004.
From 2004 – 2017, however, the foundation was domant.)

Services prior to the period of dormancy had been provided free of charge (FOC) to those in need as MHF’s operations were entirely dependent on donations. Hence it was not sustainable for the foundation to grow and to deliver its services effectively and efficiently during this period. During this time, MHF was also the Malaysian affiliate partner to United Way International (see http://www.unitedway.org).

MHF focused on providing support in the form of medical services by engaging teams of doctors, nurses and physiotherapists (occupational and speech) to perform healthcare checks and assistance for NGOs as well as for hospice patients in their homes.

During this time, MHF also helped with the training of volunteers and linking them up with NGOs with various activities and celebrations. There were at least one to three activities every week which were small, medium or large in scale. All of these can be seen in the attached library of pictures (see here).

Our community focus in the past was working with the Disabled, Elderly, Hospice and Orphans (DEHO).This was also supported by the Humanitarian Bureau services (call centre); Humanitarian Club in secondary schools to promote volunteerism and a caring Society; Humanitarian Care-A-Van (which is a mobile van clinic); Humanitarian Therapy & Rehabilitation; Humanitarian Hospice & Bereavement; Senior Citizen Humanitarian Clubs; The National Federation of Non-Government Organisations for Disaster Relief Malaysia (NFNDRM)  and the ASEAN Humanitarian Project and Humanitarian Games.
